judging by the teams in the Deep South I would do doublestixx.
Not an impressive group in the DS. It is the lovely creation of Lou (hence the Deep South- was that the name of his old camp years ago?) and Jason Childs.

This is a recruiting camp for players in the Southeast. Double Stixx is a fall league for players to get better and have fun like other fall leagues.

It is the first year of this tournament so lets hold comment until it is finished this weekend.

Jason Childs ran this tournament the last 2 years at Presbyterian under the name Fall Foothills Classic. It was well run both years. With his move to Mercer, he had to move the tournament obviously and without a teamof players to help run it he turned to the AYL folks. I expect it to be a good experience as it has been in the past.

i was not making any comments- simply stating I would referee the doublestixx.
And why does he need to run a recruiting camp in a state he coaches and recruits in especially when paired with a group that is for the "youth" and teaching the sport?
Seems like you should watch fall ball games or spring games since he won't be coaching this spring. We all talk about the future of the game- so I guess charge $$ to see the kids you should be watching anyway....
I know there will be many different responses to this but look at the underlying issue here

Applications for Georgia Select for the summer 2010 team are now being taken (http://georgiaselectboyslacrosse.vnsports.com). We recognize that between various team events, summer leagues, competing tournaments, other all star teams, camps, etc that schedules fill up quickly. It is hard to imagine that we need to start the selection process now but this is the reality of our times. We will solidify a majority of the team in the next few weeks but we will leave open 5 to 7 spots for additional players to be named to the team in the spring as well.

This team is open to players from all schools, however, this is not a developmental team, we are looking for the top players in the state. We typically carry a roster of 22 or so players (we do have some alternates that we name to the team as well that can practice with the team). The intent of this team is to take some of the top underclassmen in the state and allow them to play against some very, very good competition (minimum or 2 travel events along with local events). While not our focus, it will also get the players some very good exposure to many of the college coaches who have been invited to the tournaments we will travel to. We have had several All Americans and many All State players on our rosters and we have seen many former players go on to play at the college level and we hope that Georgia Select has helped them in that progression.

The cost per player should be reasonable and the time commitment is not significant. Again, the idea of this team is to compliment a lot of the individual camps and commitments players have in the summer.

Information has been sent to every coach in the state but also feel free to access the website and be sure to read the ABOUT US section to make you understand what we are offering and what we are not.

Thanks for your interest.
